Port Harcourt (SID) - the professional Adiele Echendu late on Saturday has apparently become the victim of a poison stop. "The doctors have tests carried out and said he had died by poison in any case," said a longtime player and good friend of Echendus SID: "But only God knows what really happened to my brother." The native Nigerians had died at the age of 32 years during a home visit in Port Harcourt. Echendu came to Germany in 1997 and had played since then for the tradition clubs Fortuna Dusseldorf, Borussia Neunkirchen, 1. FC Saarbrucken, Darmstadt 98 and Waldhof Mannheim. Most recently, he competed for Arminia Viernheim in the Verbandsliga Nordbaden. Echendu German was since 2008.
