DFL appoints Ombudsman

The DFL has appointed the Ombudsman Attorney Carsten Thiel of Herff. The 37-year-old in the Office was appointed within the framework of the project "Transparency and integrity in football".


Frankfurt/Main (SID) - which German Football League (DFL) appointed attorney Carsten Thiel of Herff to the Ombudsman. As one of the first European professional sports organisations, the Bundesliga as a preventive measure for the protection of sports competition now has an external Ombudsman.

"With the appointment of an Ombudsman, we go a further significant step in this direction," said League President Reinhard Rauball.


Thiel of Herff, former referee and coach in major junior and amateur, is immediately whistle-blowers in clues for planned or agreed game manipulation as an independent contact person available.
